Sitecore Agentic Studio Explained
Agentic Studio is the operational hub inside SitecoreAI where marketing teams ideate, create, run, and govern AI agents. Agents handle things marketing teams do every day, like in-depth research, content creation, campaign planning, and governance tasks. Teams can use agents with one another using Flows, monitor major market shifts through Signals, and organize marketing work in Spaces, with human checkpoints built into the process wherever teams configure them.
When Sitecore reorganized its platform around AI, Agentic Studio became the feature teams ask about first, and the one with the least practical guidance available. Most of what has been written so far restates Sitecore's own announcements. This guide goes further: every out-of-the-box agent, what it actually does, where each one earns its keep in a real content operation, and where it does not. We work with marketing teams on Sitecore every day at RDA, and this is the reference we wished existed when Agentic Studio shipped.
What is Agentic Studio in SitecoreAI?
Agentic Studio is the workspace within SitecoreAI where AI agents are created, configured, orchestrated, and monitored. It is the difference between a platform that has AI features and a platform where AI does assigned work. An agent in this context is not a chat window: it is a specialized AI worker that understands a goal, plans the steps, makes decisions along the way, and executes the task, then hands the result to a human as a reviewable artifact.
Agentic Studio is organized around four core concepts:
|
Concept |
What it is |
|
Agents |
Task-specific AI workers built for a defined job: researching a market, drafting a blog post, auditing content against personas. Each one plans, decides, and executes within its scope. Prebuilt agents cover common marketing tasks, while custom agents can be built for your own workflows. |
|
Flows |
Orchestrated sequences that coordinate multiple agents (and people) toward a shared goal. Flows help organize work into stages, maintain context across steps, support agent handoffs, and include human review checkpoints if configured. |
|
Signals |
AI-generated market intelligence. Once you set a topic, industry, and guiding prompt, Signals will continuously surface insights on news relevant to what you track. |
|
Spaces |
Collaborative workspaces that capture the activity, artifacts, and context of agentic work for a project or campaign. Every agent run or flow lives in a space, giving teams visibility into progress, outputs, and execution history. |
The Out-of-the-box Agents
As of this writing, Sitecore's documentation lists 17 prebuilt agents. What follows is every agent in the current documented roster, what it does, and our read on where it fits. The five categories are our grouping, organized by how the agents behave in a real content operation.
Research and Insights agents
|
Agent |
What it does |
|
Researcher |
Deep, structured research on any topic: gathers insights from web and market sources and delivers a curated intelligence brief. |
|
AEO/SEO Researcher |
Evaluates your website's visibility, ranking signals, and competitiveness in both traditional Google search and AI-powered platforms such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, and Gemini. |
|
Competitor Analyzer |
Reviews competitor content and messaging and produces a comparative analysis your team can sharpen differentiation against. |
|
Market Signals |
Generates AI-driven market insights on demand by analyzing trends, updates, and industry signals for the topics you track. |
|
Summarizer |
Condenses long documents, reports, meeting notes, or articles into concise structured summaries. |
Research and Insights agents are the lowest-risk first deployment because their output is internal. They are also the agents that improve fastest when you feed them context about your industry, competitors, and audience definitions. Treat Research and Insights like a junior analyst with a standing brief that get dramatically better the more context they have.
Content Creation agents
|
Agent |
What it does |
|
Content Generator |
Contextual, ready-to-use copy from a single prompt, drawing on your brand kit before handing output to a reviewer. |
|
Blog Writer |
Clear, structured blog articles built for your audience and goals: headline, introduction, headings, body, and call to action. |
|
Bulk Content Generator |
High-volume content for multiple audiences and channels in one run, generating consistent copy across all items. |
|
Snackable Content Generator |
Repurposes long-form content into short, engaging pieces, such as social posts, pull quotes, and other bite-size assets. |
|
Email Writer |
Persuasive, personalized emails for newsletters, promotions, nurture, or onboarding. |
|
Translator |
Translates and localizes content into other languages while preserving your brand's tone. |
|
Structured Content Extractor |
Pulls key information from unstructured text and organizes it into structured, reusable content. |
|
Quote Extractor |
Scans long-form content such as reports or transcripts and pulls the most compelling, shareable quotes. |
Content Creation agents represent the bulk of out-of-the-box agents. Every agent listed is only as good as the Brand Kit behind it. With a thin Brand Kit, the Content Generator produces generic copy. With a well-codified one, the same agent produces drafts your editors recognize as yours. Plan for a tuning period with these, and treat the first month of output as heavy-edit drafts while you refine the Brand Kit, and expect the edit burden to drop steadily after that. The quiet stars of the category are the Structured Content Extractor, which removes the worst grunt work from larger content migrations, and the Snackable Content Generator, which fixes the most common waste in content operations: long-form assets that are published once and never reused.
Campaign and Strategy agents
|
Agent |
What it does |
|
Brief Generator |
Turns campaign goals, audience inputs, and market context into a clear, structured brief for campaigns or content projects. |
Every downstream agent, and every downstream human, works better from a structured brief. If you chain nothing else, chain Brief Generator into your marketing content flows first.
Data and Audience agents
|
Agent |
What it does |
|
Account Data Enricher |
Enriches account and contact records with AI-researched context. |
|
Audience Summary |
Synthesizes your audience data into a plain-language snapshot: who they are, what they care about, and how to reach them, no manual queries required. |
Data and Audience agents summarize and enrich what already exists. If your audience data is fragmented, fix the foundation first, then let Audience Summary make it legible to the whole team.
Ops and Governance agents
|
Agent |
What it does |
|
Persona Content Auditor |
Reviews existing content against your defined personas, flagging tone mismatches and content that misses what your audiences need. |
Most teams audit content once a year under duress. The Persona Content Auditor makes auditing a scheduled habit instead of a project. Run it as a recurring governance cycle and the brand drift that normally accumulates gets caught early.
How Flows turn agents into real workflows
Individual agents save minutes. Flows save entire cycles. A Flow coordinates multiple agents into a staged sequence that maintains context across steps, hands work between agents, and includes human review checkpoints, all built on a visual canvas rather than in code. One licensing note worth planning for: running agents is broadly available, but creating and editing agents and flows requires a Builder license and Editor role, so decide early who on the team owns that.
Below is an example of a real workflow:
With a simple prompt, a full-reviewed content package is delivered. The humans in that flow made two decisions instead of performing nine tasks.
Two details worth knowing before your technical team asks. First, agents are never far away: Agentic Studio is accessible from the Agentic navigation and from the AI chat icon anywhere in the platform, so running an agent doesn't mean leaving your current work. Second, the studio is extensible beyond what ships in the box. Workflow agents are built on a visual canvas with structured actions — data extraction, content generation, research, conditional logic — and can enforce clean structured output through schemas. Agents can also connect outward: MCP (Model Context Protocol) support, including Sitecore's own Marketer MCP, lets agents reach external tools and data sources, and an Agent API lets external systems trigger agents programmatically. For marketing leaders, the practical translation is that Agentic Studio can connect to other platforms you already own for enhanced data and context.
Signals and Spaces: The Intelligence and Operational Layer
Signals is Agentic Studio's market intelligence layer. You define a topic to track, the industry context around it, and a prompt that tells the AI what to emphasize. Signals then continuously scans trusted industry sources and surfaces concise, research-backed insights on a dedicated page, on demand through the Market Signals agent, or directly in chat. The practical value is timing: instead of a marketer discovering a market shift weeks late through a trade newsletter, the insight is waiting in the studio, and the team can act on it immediately, including handing it straight to an agent or flow as context for the response.
Spaces keep all of it organized. Every agent run and flow lives in a workspace holding the collaborators, artifacts, context, and full execution history for a project or campaign. Teams can invite collaborators, refine artifacts together, run additional agents in the same space with shared context, and convert finished artifacts into SitecoreAI items. For governance purposes, that execution history provides a clear audit trail.
Human-in-the-loop: What Stays Human
Agentic Studio is built around keeping humans in control of approvals. Agent runs produce artifacts like drafts, briefs, analyses, that sit in a space for review, and moving an artifact into your live content requires a human to convert and approve it. Flows support human review checkpoints at any stage. Governance in Agentic Studio is a design decision you make when you build a flow. The division of labor we recommend is consistent: agents do the repetitive execution, humans own strategy, judgment, brand, and the final decision. In practice, the marketer's job shifts from producing assets to directing and approving them, which is a change in working rhythm that requires careful planning and execution.
What Agentic Studio does not do
Where to start: the first three agents to pilot
Based on risk, leverage, and time to visible value, we recommend piloting in this order:
Pilot one flow on one real workload with one named owner, measure cycle time before and after, and expand with learnings from your pilot.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Sitecore Agentic Studio?
Agentic Studio is the hub inside SitecoreAI where marketing teams build, run, and govern AI agents, chain them into multi-step Flows, track market intelligence through Signals, and organize work in collaborative Spaces. Agents execute assigned tasks autonomously and deliver their output as artifacts for human review.
How many agents come with SitecoreAI?
As of July 2026, Agentic Studio contains 17 prebuilt agents, spanning research, content creation, campaign briefing, data enrichment, and content governance.
What is the difference between an agent and a flow?
An agent is a single AI worker built for one kind of task. A flow coordinates multiple agents through a staged, multi-step process — maintaining context between steps and including human checkpoints — to complete something end-to-end, such as a campaign launch.
Can you build custom agents in Agentic Studio?
Yes. Beyond the prebuilt roster, teams can create two kinds of custom agents — standard agents and workflow agents — and chain them into flows alongside the standard lineup. Creating and editing agents requires a Builder license and Editor role, while running them does not.
Is Agentic Studio included with SitecoreAI?
Yes. Sitecore states that SitecoreAI includes full access to Agentic Studio at no additional cost, without token or credit limits. As with any platform commitment, confirm current terms in your agreement with Sitecore or your implementation partner.
Put the agents to work
Reading about agents is not the same as watching one produce your brief, in your voice, against your content. RDA runs working sessions where we stand up Agentic Studio against a real workload from your backlog and let the results make the argument. If your team is deciding where agents fit, book an Agentic Studio working session with RDA.
